In 2011 ARC is celebrating 10 years of official existence, of pioneering in the field of mobilizing resources from community.
Our mission is to support the mobilization of resources in community in Romania.
Here at ARC we have the answer for some questions and we especially ask all the time relevant questions in order to have the good answers.
What would be the question at which we could answer you?
How do I gather donations and volunteers to ensure that my work is at the highest level for my beneficiaries?
We teach people interested in fundraising how to begin, how to evolve and how to mesure. Either if it is about specialists in fundraising (profesionals or volunteers) or organizations that decided to go in their communities and involve them through volunteering or donations/sponsorships, we are at their side by adjusting the instruments for each of them.
At The Fundraising Conference, at which 100 organisations from all over the country and region participate annually, at the courses organized periodically, at the Postgraduate Course deploied in partnership with the University Babes Bolyai or through People for People Gala and consultancy, we have succeeded to bring the newest information and to help organsations to make the best of them in order to raise funds.
Why and how resources are given in the community so I can have a real impact and produce a significant change with my gesture?
Either if it is about an individual donor who wants to offer 100 RON or about a company that can mobilize 3000 employees, sponsorships and many other resources, the question from which we start is the same. Where can I have maximum impact and effectiveness with my time and money so that I satisfy my needs of coherence, visibility or just to feel usefull? With the help of our national expertise, international partnerships and a good understanding of the NGO and corporate field, we develope, together with our clients, strategies and programmes, we find solutions to implement and measure them and we involve in communicating the results.
London Benchmarking Group – the instrument for measuring the effectiveness of CCI programmes, the programme BRD GSG – “Change a destiny”, ENGAGE- programme of corporate volunteering or People for People Gala are just some of the examples of various approaches we use.
How to get a consistently behaviour from donors and to rise the culture of involvement in Romania?
- Because in the last 10 years the perception over the involvement had changed considerably, we belive that it came the time to make a step forward in creating sustainable institutions, that would have a close and stable relationship with the donor and to serve the most important needs of the community. Community Foundations are such institutions. In this programme, people which care about their community are founding a community foundation for the city/district they live in and they put the grounds of an entity that will be active in the community for a lot of generations from now on.
- For a new culture and a new mind set we've tried to go to future liders of the world. Through YouthBank programme, highschool students from all over the country are fundraising creatively from individuals and companies, and after that they offer them to highschool student teams, after a by-the-book financing process. They learn to communicate, to involve themselves, to care and to use resources in the best way so that afterwards to use these abilities in their life as mature citizens.
Research and changes of the enviroment
In our work is essential not to base only on energy and “wish to do”. Constantly we look at how internal and external enviroments are working, at social, economical and subtle implications of various mechanisms, at how they can be exploated with maximum impact and long term effects.
We started our activity with the research “Trends of philanthropic behavoiur 2003”, a study on a national representative sampling that showed us if and how the romanians offer, to what causes and at what level. We resumed that study in 2007 and we plan to come back periodically to this type of analysis.
2% is the mechanism that have changed dramatically in a positive way the perception on NGO and the relationship between citizen and community. We involved along with partners such FDSC and AmCham in developing the mechanism in Romania and to make it grow.
A last example from the category of research are the national and regional studies and the curricula which you can find in the “library” section.
If now is a bit clearer which is the field and you're still asking who is ARC, the most simple answer is that we are two full hands of people with a lot of pasion and dedication for our work, that work very well together, with a lot of respect for the needs and mission of those who we work with and especially attached to ARC's vision:
We work together to have access to welfare and abundance.
